Mazal tov to Leighton Jeffy, the 2026 Tucson Hebrew Academy (THA) Teacher Excellence Awardee. Jeffy is a Middle School Humanities teacher at THA. The THA Teacher Excellence Award Endowment was established in 2005 at the Jewish Community Foundation by THA parents Robyn Kessler and Martha Sampson z”l, who wanted to ensure there would be funding available every year for the award. The award recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates merit in teaching and inspiring students. This honor includes a monetary award that the teacher may use the following year in his or her classroom for educational experiences, classroom materials, or other applications that further education to the benefit of the students of THA.
