Of Blessed Memory: Felice Capin

Felice Lehr Capin passed away on August 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Felice was born in New York, New York, on October 27, 1933. She met her late husband Harlan Capin while working as a bookkeeper in the garment district and raising her two daughters. After she married Harlan in May 1964, she moved with him to his native home in Nogales, Arizona, and immediately became the mother of seven children in their blended family. Felice and Harlan enjoyed traveling the world together, often with family and friends. During her ninety-two years, she touched the lives of many with her wisdom and extraordinary insight into people and life. She was known for her kindness, frankness, and enduring humor. She had an uncommon sense of style, always the New Yorker. She was the epitome of elegance and grace.

Felice dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, loving them fiercely. She was the matriarch of her family and a trusted and loyal friend to many. Felice read voraciously, and loved discussing books, politics, and life in general with her family and friends. She is predeceased by Harlan and their son Mark Capin and son-in-law Nils Urman. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Urman, Roni Rivera- Ashford (Danny), Wendy Capin, Beth Beckmann (Gabe), and Sandy Capin-Kauffman (Rick); her son Rick Capin (Perla); grandchildren Aaron, Justin, Sarah, Jason, Leah, Chloe, Lauren, Andrew, Becca, Brittany, Sam, and Taylor; and great grandchildren Lucas, Tatum, Callan, Loretta, Waylon, Miles, and Fatima. The world will be a little less bright without her light, but what a special legacy she has left behind. A celebration of Felice’s life will be held at Tucson Jewish Community Center, September 6, 2026, 11: 00 a.m
