Classes offer free ‘Taste of Judaism’

The Union for Reform Judaism’s Taste of Judaism classes, taught by Temple Emanu-El’s Rabbi Batsheva Appel, will be offered at the Tucson Jewish Community Center on Sundays, Sept. 8, 15, and 22 from 2:30-4:30 p.m., and at Temple Emanu-El on Thursdays, Sept. 12, 19, and 26, from 6-8 p.m. Participants will learn about Jewish spirituality, values and community, and enjoy samples of Jewish foods in three two-hour classes.

The Taste of Judaism is free and open to all — Jewish or not. In the last 19 years, approximately 6,000 students have taken advantage of Temple Emanu-El’s Taste of Judaism classes. Although the classes are free, registration is required. To register and for more information, contact the Union for Reform Judaism by email at intro@urj.org or by phone at (646) 793-3196, or call the Temple Emanu-El office at 327-4501.
