Shalom Tucson event to highlight synagogues

Shalom Tucson will present its 8th annual “Gateway to our Synagogues” free bagel brunch on Sunday, Aug. 15, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Tucson Jewish Community Center.

The program provides an opportunity for newcomers and anyone newly interested to chat with representatives of Tucson’s synagogues, including many rabbis, and learn about High Holiday services, religious schools, teen groups, facilities and programs, says Anne Lowe, director of outreach and Shalom Tucson for the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona. Other Jewish organizations and agencies will be represented at the event along with the synagogues.

Many of the synagogues will be holding open houses immediately following the bagel brunch or on the following Sunday.

There is no charge to attend “Gateway to our Synagogues” but advance reservations are requested. Call Lowe at 577-9393, ext. 130.

Shalom Tucson is a project of the JFSA and the JCC.
