Tucson J, Federation-NW teaming up for picnic

The Tucson Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s Northwest Division will co-host a family outreach event, “Northwest Fun in the Sun Day,” on Sunday, April 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 , at Canada Del Oro Riverfront Park,  551 W. Lambert Lane in Oro Valley.

The event will include a DJ, an Israeli dance instruction session, inflatable bounce houses, interactive sports activities and craft tables.There will be informational tables from Jewish organizations and food trucks from Cold Stone Creamery and Road Runner Wood Fired Pizza. Complimentary water and popcorn will be available.

“We are one Jewish community in Tucson, and our community is growing. We want to make sure everyone is aware of all the exceptional programs available in our area and to know that everyone is welcome,” says Scott Zorn, director of children, youth and family engagement at the Tucson J.

“It is exciting to watch the evolution and growth of northwest Tucson,” adds Phyllis Gold, executive director of the Jewish Federation’s Northwest Division, which serves Jewish residents of Catalina, Marana, Oracle, Oro Valley, SaddleBrooke, Sun City and beyond from its office at the  corner of Oracle and Magee Roads.
