JCRC holds school supply drive for Homer Davis

homer davis crop 2Making a Difference Every Day: The Homer Davis Project, an effort to reach out to the under-served school children in the community at Homer Davis Elementary School, is the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s signature social action program. School. This coming school year, 2016-2017, begins the seventh year of JCRC’s commitment to this project.
The Homer Davis Project assists students by providing weekend and school break food packs, after school homework helpers, classroom assistants, as well as school supplies and other items essential to their well being and educational success.
The JCRC is seeking the following school supplies through Aug. 12: Colored pencils, composition notebooks, crayons (24 count), dry erase markers – black, glue sticks, highlighters, markers, pencils, pens, safety scissors, vinyl folders, wide-ruled 3-ring binder paper, wide-ruled spiral notebooks (no design, 70-100 pages).
Contributions may be dropped off at the following locations:  Congregation Anshei Israel, Congregation Chaverim, Congregation Or Chadash, Temple Emanu-El, the Tucson Jewish Community Center (3800 E. River Road), the ECE at the J, the Jewish Community Foundation (3565 E. Sunrise Drive, #143), Truly Nolen (3620 E. Speedway, Suite 105), the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona (3822 E. River Road), and the Jewish Federation – Northwest (190 W. Magee Road, #162).
