Gubernatorial candidates will debate at JCRC event

The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona will sponsor Gubernatorial Debate 2014 on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. Cosponsors are the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and YWCA Tucson.

Fred Duval, the Democratic candidate; Doug Ducey, the Republican candidate; and Barry Hess, the Libertarian candidate, will participate in the debate. Christopher Conover of Arizona Public Media will be the moderator.

“In order to strengthen our community, it is vital that we cultivate opportunities for individuals to learn about important issues and directly engage with candidates for elected office,” says Bryan Davis, JCRC director. “This election will determine the future of our state, and the voices of southern Arizonans need to be heard.”
