JFCS NW office expands counseling outreach

Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Southern Arizona, a nonprofit agency that offers social and behavioral health services to the Jewish and greater Tucson community, recently opened an office on the Northwest side, at the corner of Oracle and Magee Roads.

Shoshana Elkins, vice president of programs and services at JFCS, says the expansion is a way for JFCS to offer counseling and private care-management services to more people, while providing a smaller, more private setting than the agency’s main office at Columbus Boulevard and Fifth Street. The new site is a convenient location for Northwest residents, says Elkins, adding, “Also, some clients may not be comfortable obtaining their services in our central Tucson office and may prefer the more intimate setting the Northwest office provides.”

Licensed master’s-level therapists are available at the new office to provide clinical counseling to individuals, couples and families. The office also serves clients and families who need JFCS Select Care plans, care management for older adults and people with disabilities.

The office is located at 190 W. Magee Road, Ste. 162-A, adjacent to the newly opened Jewish Federation-Northwest office. Like the JFCS central office, the Northwest office accepts most major insurance plans and offers a sliding-fee-scale payment option for counseling. Major credit cards are also accepted.

To schedule an appointment for counseling services, call 795-0300, ext. 2363. For care-management services, call Pattie Martin in the JFCS Select Care office at 906-6445.
