Tucsonans plan 8th Jewish-Muslim PeaceWalk

The Eighth Annual Jewish–Muslim PeaceWalk Tucson will be held Sunday, March 6. The theme of this year’s walk is “Weaving Peace.” The organizers invite all who share a vision of coexistence and mutual understanding to take part in all or part of the event.

Participants will gather at 1:15 p.m. at Congregation Or Chadash, 3939 N. Alvernon Way for refreshments and a 1:45 p.m. opening ceremony. Walkers will take an approximately two- mile route, with rest stops, to the Al Huda Islamic School, 2800 E. River Road, arriving around 4:30 p.m. for activities, followed at 6 p.m. by multi-faith prayers and an evening meal. Transportation between sites will be provided if needed. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottles.
