Federation seeks Race for the Cure teammates

Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona is organizing a team for the 13th Annual Southern Arizona Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, which will be held Sunday, April 10 at Reid Park.

The event includes a one-mile walk at 7 a.m. and a five-mile walk/run at 8 a.m.

To sign up for the Federation team, go to www.komensaz.org. The Federation team is sponsored by Janet Lang; co-chairs are Sandy Capin-Kauffman and CHAI Circle: Cancer, Healing and Inspiration for Women in the Jewish Community. For more information or to request a mail-in application, call Karen Graham at 577-9393, ext. 118.

Seventy-five percent of net proceeds from the race go to research, education, screening and treatment programs in Southern Arizona, with the remaining 25 percent going to national research and grants.

This year, the Susan G. Komen Foundation is sponsoring a brief survey to help determine local knowledge of access to, awareness of, education about and treatment for breast health care, which will help the foundation decide where monies are needed most. To take the survey, go to www.surveymonkey.com/s/NPBBFPK.
