Tucson’s fourth annual Mega Challah Bake will be held Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. The event, for women and girls ages 9 and up, is a joint initiative of Chabad Tucson and the Tucson J with the participation of local congregations and organizations, and coincides with the global Shabbos Project.

In past years, as many as 300 women have come together in Tucson to learn how to make and braid challah dough and the significance of this mitzvah.

“This will be the fourth year that Tucson women and girls are uniting to celebrate the beauty of Shabbat and its staple dish, the challah,” says Feigie Ceitlin, program director at Chabad Tucson. “The Mega Challah Bake has become an anticipated Tucson tradition.”

Tickets are $25 and include a personal apron, ingredients for the challah, and a challah and dip buffet. Participants will bring their challah home to bake. Table hostess tickets are $225 and include nine tickets and a table photo.
