bnai-rafael zinmanRafael Herreras-Zinman, son of Mari Herreras and Tony Zinman, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, May 24 at Congregation Or Chadash.
He is the grandson of Mildred Olson and Edith Zinman, both of Tucson.
Rafi attends Orange Grove Middle School, where he sings in the choir. He also acts in local theatre around Tucson and sings in the adult choir at Or Chadash. He is a dedicated Marvel fanatic.
For his mitzvah project, Rafi is presenting the “Totally Awesome ’80s Music Video Sing-Along” at the Screening Room on May 10, 5:30-8:30 p.m., as part of Second Saturdays Downtown. His aim is to raise money and collect food for local animal shelters; suggested admission is a bag of pet food or $4. There will be a karaoke contest and a costume contest with prizes. Pets will be available for adoption in the lobby.
