Hadassah Southern Arizona will hold its first charity golf tournament on Sunday, Oct. 26, to raise funds for medical research.
“We invite you to have a great time golfing, while doing a mitzvah,” says Iris Sapovits, event chair. Noting this summer’s trendy ALS ice bucket challenge, she says, “Hadassah is already doing extensive research at its medical center in Jerusalem on ALS [amyotrophic lateral sclerosis], including stem cell research, and has documented cases of people who have had the disease reversed.”
The tournament will begin at noon at the Golf Club at Vistoso, 955 W. Vistoso Highlands Drive, Oro Valley.
With registration by Oct. 1, the cost is $125 and includes a player gift package, 18 holes of golf with cart, a kosher dinner of hotdogs and hamburgers, and an awards ceremony. The price is $150 after Oct. 1. Mulligans will be available on the tournament day for $10 or three for $20. Foursomes may sign up together as well as single registrants.
To register, mail a check payable to Hadassah, c/o Annie Stein, 1718 N. Rio Trinidad, Green Valley, AZ 85614. For more information, contact Sapovits at 648-1214.
