Schwager was the development director for the University of Arizona Hillel Foundation for six years and prior to that, volunteered for the Catalina Foothills School District, Tucson Hebrew Academy, Satori Schools, Congregation Young Israel and Congregation Bet Shalom.

The TUCSON MUSEUM OF ART is included in the inaugural issue of Next Practice, a magazine of innovation and best practices in museums published by the American Association of Art Museums.
