Alexa Contreras, daughter of Alizda Garma and Moises Contreras of Rio Rico, Ariz., will celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, March 15 at Temple Emanu-El.
She is the granddaughter of Elda and Alfonso Garma of Nogales, Ariz., and Silva and Moises Contreras of Nogales, Sonora.
Alexa attends Wade Carpenter Middle School, where she is an honor student. She enjoys playing soccer.
For her mitzvah project, she has volunteered at a center that serves people with disabilities in Santa Cruz County.
