B’nai Mitzvah

Zakkai Shlomo Markowitz

ZAKKAI SHLOMO MARKO­WITZ, son of Ilana and Neil Boss Markowitz, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, March 24 with Congregation Chaverim at a ranch in Oracle.
He is the grandson of Jana Liba Klenburg of New York, N.Y., Barbara and the late Herb Potashkin of Watchung, N.J., the late Marvin Markowitz of New York, N.Y., and Etta Olmsted and the late Bob Boss of Tucson.
Zakkai attends Tucson Hebrew Academy. He draws political cartoons and participates in goshinjitsu, a Japanese martial art. He also enjoys fencing and folding origami. ­For his mitzvah project, he is teaching origami to refugee children from around the world through the Owl and Panther organization in Tucson.
