JCC seeks WWII memorabilia for exhibit

In preparation for an upcoming display at the Tucson Jewish Community Center celebrating the Allied victors of World War II and the liberation of Europe, volunteer Bill Kugelman and JCC communications specialist Marty Johnston are collecting historical artifacts.

To date, Jeffrey A. Marks has donated a World War II U.S. Army helmet, Joel Heller donated a pair of Army Air Corps boots worn by B17 Pilot David M. Heller, and Todd and Melinda Welch donated a WWII uniform shirt, pants, jacket and tie. Todd’s grandfather, Howard Welch, served in the 42nd Infantry, which liberated Dachau. Bill Kugelman was liberated from a subcamp of Dachau.

Another pair of combat boots and two mannequins are needed to complete the display. Condition is unimportant. For more information, contact Johnston at 299-3000, ext. 104.
