DAVID ALBERTS, M.D., was one of three finalists for the Lifetime Achievement in Health Care award presented at Tucson Local Media’s Influential Health and Medical Leaders Awards on Sept. 23. Alberts is the director emeritus of the University of Arizona Cancer Center and a regent’s professor of medicine, pharmacology, nutritional science and public health.

Perimeter Bicycling Association of America, Inc. has named GABRIELLE GIFFORDS and MARK KELLY the 33rd El Tour de Tucson dedication recipients for “their committed service to their country and for electing to use the bicycle as a means to get back to good mental and physical health.” Gifford and Kelly are preparing for El Tour, which will be held Nov. 21.
