Scenes from the Israel 64 Festival
More than 2,000 people attended the Weintraub Israel Center’s Israel 64 Festival on Sunday, May 6 at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. The theme of the festival was “Celebrate Jerusalem Together.” Along with the “Ben Yehuda Street” art fair and community exhibitors, the event featured a Tel-Aviv-style pool party, “Israel U” lectures by University of Arizona faculty, live performances by Israelis Robbie Gringras and Adam Mader, a Zumba exhibition, choir performances, Israeli foods, a Bedouin-style tent and coffee lounge, and children’s activities including a make-and-take bakery, a rock wall for climbing, inflatables and a train ride representing Jerusalem’s new light rail.
