You’re Invited to Celebrate Shabbat Together

Our community is stronger when we gather in celebration, in prayer, in song, and when we make motzi together.

The entire Tucson Jewish community is invited to join with many of Tucson’s congregations and educational institutions for a communal Shabbat experience on Friday, September 9 (13 Elul 5782) from 6 to 9pm. As the town square of the Jewish community, the Tucson J is proud to host the gathering. Erev Shabbat services will be led simultaneously by the different congregations throughout the Tucson J. This is a wonderful opportunity to become acquainted with a different congregation or to attend your own services in a new location and with new people. Shabbat dinner will take place outdoors in the newly illuminated Sculpture Garden (weather permitting).

Thanks to a generous Synagogue Projects grant from the Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona, the delicious, kosher Shabbat dinner catered by Asher Amar is highly subsidized. A vegan dinner option is available. There is an immediate family maximum of $36. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds, contact Jennifer Selco at the Tucson J for more information.

Participating Synagogues and organizations include: Beth Shalom Temple Center Green Valley, Congregation Beit Simcha, Congregation Bet Shalom, Congregation Haverim, Congregation M’kor Hayim, Kol Ami, Tucson Hebrew Academy, the Tucson J, and UofA Hillel.

This community event is powered by Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona.
