A celebration of the 90th birthday of Rabbi Sanford Seltzer was held March 31 at the Oro Valley home of Barbara Brumer. The outdoor party was arranged and attended by students in Rabbi Seltzer’s Zohar study class. The past two years of study have been conducted online, and his students were eager to honor his exceptional scholarship and guidance with an in-person celebration. A highlight of the luncheon was a congratulatory letter from Dr. Daniel Matt, translator of the Zohar, Pritzker Edition. Many of Rabbi Seltzer’s students have been studying with him for several years.
The class is sponsored by the Jewish Lifelong Learning program at Kol Ami.
