Two JHM programs to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day

The Jewish History Museum/Holocaust History Center will mark Holocaust Remembrance Day and the liberation of Auschwitz with two online programs next week.

“We Are Still Here: The Testimony of Margot Heuman, Auschwitz Survivor” screens the testimony of a Southern Arizona resident, newly recorded in the Holocaust History Center in spring 2020. The program, which will include remarks from other survivors living in Southern Arizona, will be available at www.jewishhistorymuseum.org beginning Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. No registration is required.

On Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m., the museum will present “The Night Is for More than Sleep,” a community reading of the journal of Manfred Lewin, a queer teenager who gave his journal to his friend and lover, Gad Beck, before perishing at Auschwitz. The event will include the reading, testimony, and community conversation. Registration is required; click here to register.
