The Holocaust History Center at the Jewish History Museum will explore “The Holocaust: What Do We Need to Know Now?” with a free lecture on Monday, March 13 at 10 a.m.

Peter Hayes, chair of the academic committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, will identify the central questions that continue to preoccupy students who approach the Holocaust and scholars who have spent careers examining it, outline some of the misunderstandings that students bring to the subject and some observers encourage about it, and attempt to set the record straight with reference to the findings of the latest and soundest research in the field.

Hayes is a professor of history and German and the Theodore Zev Weiss Holocaust Education Foundation Professor of Holocaust Studies Emeritus at Northwestern University.
