SHARON MEGDAL, Ph.D., was awarded the Women of Influence Lifetime Achievement Award for 2016. The award was presented by Tucson Local Media/Inside Tucson Business at the culmination of its gala Women of Influence awards dinner on March 22. The award recognizes Megdal for her efforts in Arizona and throughout the world to resolve public policy issues, particularly her water projects and programs, which include water management in Israel. Megdal serves as director of the Water Resources Research Center at the University of Arizona and was re-elected in 2014 to represent Pima County for a six-year term on the board of the Central Arizona Project.
