ot_elyse pincusELYSE PINCUS was one of 100 new Birthright Israel Fellows who received training last month at a four-day seminar in San Diego. Pincus is the Birthright coordinator at the University of Arizona Hillel Foundation. She also teaches pre-k and kindergarten beit midrash at Congregation Chaverim.

ot_gabeGABE LEHRER, a senior at Catalina Foothills High School, has released a solo CD, “Cuban Chevy,” available on bandcamp and Itunes. Lehrer is the son of Mimi Algazi and Matt Lehrer.

ot_dr victoria maizesVICTORIA MAIZES, M.D., will present the University of Arizona Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health’s James E. Dalen Distinguished Lecture for Health Policy, “Wellness in Action: Integrative Medicine Meets Public Health,” on May 6 at 5 p.m. in the DuVal Auditorium at Banner-University Medical Center Tucson, 1501 N. Campbell Ave.  Maizes is executive director of the UA Center for Integrative Medicine and professor of clinical medicine, family medicine and public health. She is the co-editor of “Integrative Women’s Health” and the author of “Be Fruitful: The Essential Guide to Maximizing Fertility and Giving Birth to a Healthy Child.” In 2009 she was named one of the world’s 25 intelligent optimists by ODE magazine.
