ot_Iris2IRIS SAPOVITS was named Hadassah Southern Arizona’s Woman of the Year. She has served as Hadassah Southern Arizona president, co-president and vice president of fundraising as well as on the Desert Mountain Region Board. She is also active with the Green Valley White Elephant thrift store, the Green Valley Arts & Craft Association and the Beth Shalom Temple Center.

john peckJOHN PECK was elected as Pima County Justice of the Peace for District 3 and was sworn in on Dec. 22, 2014. A Tucson native, Peck served as senior vice president for community relations and strategic planning at the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, joining the JFSA originally in 1996 as director of the Jewish Community Relations Council. After leaving JFSA in 2008, he served as chief operating officer of the International Sonoran Desert Alliance. He was previously assistant director of what is now the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona, founding director of the Park County Economic Development office and the Parke County Community Foundation in Indiana, and managing editor of the Arizona Daily Star.
