Warren Malkin

Warren P. Malkin, 84, died June 1, 2014.

Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. Malkin was a star athlete in high school. He graduated from George Washington University and mastered the Chinese language, which helped him decipher enemy codes for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Evelyn in the 1970s, moving later to Miami and recently to Peoria, Ariz.

Mr. Malkin was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Perlman Malkin and brother, Eugene Malkin. Survivors include his children, Cheryl Ortega of Peoria, Wes Malkin of Miami, Stephanie Dutch of Greenville, S.C., and Brenda Anderson; sister, Marcia Malkin Galfond of Stuart, Fla.; eight grandchldren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at East Lawn Palms Cemetery with Rabbi Yehuda Ceitlin of Chabad Tucson officiating.
