Congregation Chofetz Chayim

chofetz purim sword fight sm- altYochanan Gordon and Rabbi Israel Becker held a mock sword fight as Gavriel Aronov snapped a photo at Congregation Chofetz Chayim’s Purim party on Sunday, March 16. The event, which included dinner and a professional magic show, was attended by more than 80 people.

TE Purim ECE kids rsThe Strauss Early Childhood Education Center classes sang Purim songs at Temple Emanu-El’s Purim Extravaganza on Sunday, March 9. A Purim spiel, “Megillah Mia,” followed preschool and religious school, youth choir and dance performances. About 400 people attended the event, which included a carnival. Sydney Press (left) and Madeline Jacobs had butterflies painted on their faces at Congregation Anshei Israel’s “Purim Palooza.” Combining carnival games, a Megillah reading and a costume parade, the event on Sunday, March 16 attracted about 200 people.

Tamar (left) and Celeste Bergantino were among some 100 people at Congregation Or Chadash’s Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 16. The youth philanthropy event raised about $1,000 that will go toward seed money for the youth philanthropy program, the eighth grade class trip and to support the congregation.

Baby buggies led the way as Tucson Jewish Community Center children and staff marched through the JCC building and sculpture garden during their annual Purim Parade on Monday, March 14.  The morning concluded with an all-school sing-a-long and Megillah reading.
