Tucsonans can activate the Jewish concept of halbashat arumin, clothing the needy, this cold season by participating in a clothing drive to benefit Primavera Men’s Shelter. This social action effort running through Jan. 4 is sponsored by the Tucson Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Community Relations Council in partnership with several area synagogues.
The following items are needed: Men’s warm clothing, winter coats for men, women and children, backpacks and wallets. Gently used items may be donated. Donation bins are located in the front lobby of the JCC or any of these other locations: Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, Congregation Anshei Israel, Congregation Bet Shalom, Congregation Chaverim, Congregation M’Kor Hayim, Congregation Or Chadash and Temple Emanu-El.
