Camp scholarships available from JFSA, other sources

Scholarships for Jewish overnight camps, funded by the Moe and Frances Beren Family Scholarship Fund, are available through the Coalition for Jewish Education of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona.

“As in past years, these funds are critical in both showing the community’s recognition of the positive impact Jewish overnight camping experiences have on Jewish identity, as well as helping families to make these experiences a reality,” says Sharon Glassberg, CJE director.

The need-based scholarship is open to students attending local religious school programs and Tucson Hebrew Academy. It is meant to be combined with funding from another source, such as a synagogue, camp or other Jewish organization. Campers may qualify for additional funding through the Foundation for Jewish Camp, including PJ Goes to Camp. Separate applications are necessary. Visit www.jewishcamp. org/one-happy-camper for information.

Applications are due Feb. 10. For an application form, contact Glassberg at 577-9393 or sglassberg@jfsa.org.
