Lola Olivia Maas, daughter of Billie Holtzman Maas and Galen Evans, will celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah with her cousin Sophie Holtzman on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at the Hadassah Medical Center Synagogue in Jerusalem, Israel.
She is the granddaughter of Barbara Holtzman and the late Stuart Holtzman of Tucson.
Lola attends Congregation Chaverim and is an honor student at Tucson Hebrew Academy. She enjoys reading, fashion design, crafting and music.
For her mitzvah project, Lola is volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House and is supporting END IT: Shine A Light On Slavery, an organization working to end slavery, human trafficking and child labor. She and her cousin also will volunteer at Hadassah Medical Center’s pediatric ward; they are collecting art supplies and games for children in isolation wards.
