JUDY BERG, Ph.D., RNC, WHNP, FAAN, FAANP, a clinical professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing, has been elected to serve as president of the Western Institute of Nursing for a two-year term. As president, she will also serve on the steering committee of the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science.

 

 

 

JEFF M. SAMBUR tied for a gold (first place) award in the travel essay category of the 2012 Independent Publisher Book Awards for his self-published book, “Destroying Demons on the Diagonal: A Firefighter’s San Diego to Maine Bicycle Ride into Retirement.”

DONNA YOUDELMAN, a special education teacher with the Flowing Wells School District, recently returned from Washington, D.C., where she was honored by the National Education Association and California Casualty with the Teacher of Excellence Award.  This award acknowledges Youdelman as one of the top 35 educators in the United States. Earlier this year she was honored by the Council for Exceptional Children as the Arizona Special Educator of the Year and by the Arizona Education Association as the Christa McAuliffe “I Teach, I Touch the Future” Arizona Award recipient.
