SHLOMO & VITO’S NEW YORK DELICATESSEN is adding a pizza kitchen. It will celebrate its grand re-opening Aug. 17 with a charitable partnership, donating 10 percent of each pizza sale Aug. 17-26 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. As part of the re-opening, Shlomo & Vito’s will also offer delivery service.

 

SCOTT H. GAN of Mesch, Clark & Rothschild received the 2012 Judicial Branch Distinguished Service Award from the Arizona Supreme Court in the Pro Bono Service category. The awards, presented in June, recognize teams, projects and courts that improve public trust in the Arizona court system. Gan has served in the Volunteer Lawyers Program of Southern Arizona since 1986 and has donated thousands of hours representing clients, training law students and assisting the courts. Gan has practiced law for over 35 years and is the chairman of the appellate section of Mesch, Clark & Rothschild. He specializes in appeals, bankruptcy and business reorganization.

 

ARIZONA THEATRE COMPANY received a $500,000 gift in June — the largest in ATC’s 46-year history — from an Arizona resident who wishes to remain anonymous. The gift will help ATC continue its programs both onstage and in classrooms across the state, “serving those students affected by cuts in arts programs,” says ATC Board President Rob Glaser.

 

ADAM GOLDSTEIN, a financial advisor at RBC Wealth Management, recently received his Certified Financial Planner TM certification. Goldstein is co-chair of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona Young Men’s Group and is a member of the Jewish Federation Northwest Advisory Council.

 

GREEN FIELDS COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL has named longtime music teacher and middle school principal Becky Cordier as head of school. Cordier began teaching at Green Fields in 1986 after graduating from the University of Arizona School of Music with a bachelor’s degree in choral education. She also holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Grand Canyon University.
