SARAH LANGERT is the incoming director of leadership development and public relations at the JEWISH FEDERATION OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA. She is succeeding Rebecca Goodman, who will be moving to Indiana. Langert has an undergraduate degree in public administration with a minor in Judaic studies from the University of Arizona. She is a thesis candidate at American Jewish University for a master’s of business administration in nonprofit management. Langert is a Federation Executive Recruitment and Education Program Fellow through the Jewish Federations of North America.  She has been a campaign associate at THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore for the past two years, where she also worked in leadership development.

 

TEMPLE EMANU-EL has appointed CHAVA GAL-OR as youth education director of the Sam and Jane Kurn Religious School. Gal-Or has served as director of congregational education at several congregations over the past 15 years, including Bethesda Jewish Congregation in Bethesda, Md., since 2008. She has been helped create support groups and workshops for Jewish educators throughout the country and has presented Jewish education workshops at national conventions. She is creating a nonprofit organization, My Second Foundation, to develop short-term retreats for adults healing from childhood trauma. She blogs at http://lightwavejourney. wordpress.com.
