PHYLLIS BRAUN, executive editor of the ARIZONA JEWISH POST, was a panelist at a Pima County/Tucson Women’s Commission seminar Oct. 18 on “How to Get Your Regional News in Print or Online.” Also on the panel were Carolyn Classen, J.D., author of “Carolyn’s Community”on tucsoncitizen.com; Tiffany Kjos, regional editor of the Arizona Daily Star; and Karen Nystedt, editor of the Desert Leaf.

BEYOND BREAD will compete in the World Sandwich Competition in Las Vegas on Nov. 3, hosted and judged by Adam Richman, Travel Channel host, author and culinary expert. Beyond Bread was nominated after being selected as the Tucson Weekly winner for Best Sandwich 2011.

The 46 finalists for the Tucson Metro Chamber Copper Cactus Awards, which recognize the achievements of small businesses, include LP&G Inc. (best place to work), PIMA DERMATOLOGY (small business leader) and CASA DE LA LUZ HOSPICE (business growth). The awards will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 13 at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa.
