This letter comes in response to the article in the May 20 issue, “A growing number of Jewish atheists look for their place in Jewish life.”
There is already a group in Southern Arizona, based in Tucson, that offers a place for committed Jewish atheists as well as those who are still wondering about Judaism without deism. We are the Secular Humanist Jewish Circle, and have been organizing in Tucson for almost a year. We have held High Holy Days services, a Passover Seder, and several educational meetings. We welcome all who have questions about secular Judaism, or just want to know about us. Please contact Susan at 577-7718 or at srubinaz@com cast.net for information.
