Temple Emanu-El is bringing back its free “Taste of Judaism” classes for the 12th year.
Nearly 4,000 people have completed the course through Temple Emanu-El, which now offers five sessions at locations throughout Tucson. Rabbis Samuel M. Cohon and Jason Holtz will lead an interactive exploration of the history and practice of Judaism in three two-hour sessions on spirituality, values and community, history and culture, rituals and traditions. The course also includes homemade “tastes” of Jewish foods.
This year, Temple Emanu-El will again partner with Tucson Hebrew Academy for the “Taste of Judaism” family class. Adults attend the regular class with the rabbis, while children have their own program of Jewish stories, crafts and activities with THA teachers. (Adults without children may attend the class at THA as well.)
Sessions include:
Thursdays, Aug. 25, Sept. 1 and 8, 6-8 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Road;
Wednesdays, Aug. 31, Sept. 7 and 14, 6-8 p.m. at Bear Canyon Library, 8959 E. Tanque Verde Road;
