THE TUCSON JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER announced its 2011-2012 board of directors at its annual meeting on Tuesday, May 3. The officers are Tom Warne, chair; Barney Holtzman, vice chair; Ed Rogoff, vice chair; Jill Rosenzweig, vice chair; Jeff Silvyn, vice chair; Mary Cochran Wolk, vice chair; Stuart Shatken, secretary; David Greenberg, treasurer; Fran Katz, immediate past chair. Board members include Rebecca Bednar, Katrina Bens, Neal Cash, Sara Cohen, Greg Gadarian, Jaime Gallick, Ted Goodman, Susan Moss, Liz Neuschatz, Bob Polinsky, Joaquin Ruiz, Amanda Stafford, Hyman Sukiennik and Alan Zehngut.
The JCC also recognized outstanding staff members and volunteers at the annual meeting. Pat Heller was named Volunteer of the Year for her administrative support to several JCC departments. Bob Nichol and Bob Polinsky were named Leaders of the Year for their work creating the new state-of-the-art Media Arts Center at the JCC. Carol Stern received special recognition for her fundraising efforts for the Tucson International Film Festival. The Beth Stern Awards of the Year for Staff Excellence were given to Helen Gomez Bernard, director of communications (professional staff) and Stacy Ramsower, early childhood education (support staff).
