The Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona will offer a second annual Israel Scholarship Grant, providing up to $2,500 for one trip to Israel.
Any non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status that is sponsoring an individual or group trip to Israel may apply for the Goldman Family Israel Scholarship Grant. The recipient organization will be responsible for selecting a participant to receive the scholarship. There is no requirement regarding age, ethnicity, geography or any other demographic.
Previously, the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s Coalition for Jewish Education received this grant and used it to defray the costs of an Israel trip for a Tucson high school student.
“As an individual deeply committed to exchange between Israelis and Americans, it was Elliot Goldman’s aspiration to strengthen this kind of connection through an endowment,” said JCF Executive Director Carol Karsch.
The application deadline is Nov. 30. Funding will be available in January 2011 for a trip to take place during that year. The scholarship is made possible by the Elliot S. Goldman and Goldman Family Israel Scholarship Funds. For an application, contact Lia Pierse, legacy planning coordinator, at lia@jcftucson.org.
