Matzah ball quest to spice up Jewish food fair

A Guinness Book of World Records attempt at the world’s largest matzah ball will be a highlight of the third annual Jewish Food Festival & Family Fun Fair on Sunday, Nov. 7.

The event will be held at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 3482 E. River Road, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with food from more than 15 Tucson restaurants, local artisans and entertainment including Israeli dancers, Klezmerkaba and Jimmy and the Jitterbugs. Special guests from Israel will be the Ethnic Israeli Women’s Cooking Group. The official weigh-in will take place at 11 a.m., after which the matzah ball will be served.

Participating restaurants include Acacia, Amber Restaurant & Gallery, Azul, Bluefin, Cactus Rose, Elle, Fleming’s, Hacienda Del Sol, Jonathan’s Cork, Lotus Garden, Luna Bella, Maynard’s Market & Kitchen, Shlomo & Vito’s and Sullivan’s Steak House.
