ESTER LEUTENBERG has co-authored “The GriefWork Companion: Activities for Healing,” her first self-help book for the general public. She is coauthor of a series of books for therapists to use with clients, including “Discovering Your Spiritual Path Workbook” and “The Conflict Resolution Workbook.” Her upcoming book signings include Borders, 4235 N. Oracle Road, on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2-4 p.m.

HOWARD POLSTER recently joined the Jewish Community Foundation of Southern Arizona Board of Trustees. Polster has a background in human resources at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and succeeds Jeremy Sohn as gift policy committee chair.

HILTON TUCSON EL CONQUISTADOR RESORT recently received The American Hotel & Lodging Association “Stars of the Industry” award for outstanding community service.

DIAMOND CHILDREN’S AT UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER will hold a series of invitation-only opening events in September. Members of the Diamond family will take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

LOEWS VENTANA CANYON was honored as the 2009 Hotel of the Year by Loews Hotels at its recent annual meeting. The award recognizes the hotel’s success in maintaining market share, retention and guest and employee satisfaction.

CRAIG SUMBERG has been named executive director of the Fox Tucson Theatre Foundation. He was previously the foundation’s director of development.
