Jane Levine Myerson, 77, of Oro Valley, AZ, formerly of Kingston, NY, passed away at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 56 years, Randolph Myerson, and four children — Ilana (Brett), Ethan, Jeremy (Noel), and Ben (Kelly) — and was blessed with five grandchildren, Katie, Ellie, Jonah, Danny and Emma, who brought endless joy to her life. Jane is survived by her brother, Steven Levine, and predeceased by her parents, Donald and Gloria Levine.
Professionally, Jane shared her passion for classical languages and history as a high school Latin and history teacher, shaping young minds with wisdom and warmth. She also gave deeply to her faith community, serving as president of Congregation Ahavath Israel in Kingston, NY, and leading the Jewish Federation of Greater Kingston with vision and compassion.
Jane and her husband co-founded the Chevra Kadisha of Greater Kingston, the Jewish burial society. She was also the co-founder of the Northwest Tucson Jewish Community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our friends and family who supported her during her final life challenges, with particular thanks to Dr. Jillian O’Donnell of TMC Cancer Center and the compassionate help of Haven Hospice of Tucson. Donations may be directed to Northwest Tucson Jewish Community and the American Cancer Society.
Jane will be laid to rest on Friday, July 25 at noon at Beth Alom Cemetery, 48 Allen Street in New Britain, Connecticut — the city where her life’s journey began.
Her memory will be held dearly by those whose lives she touched through her teaching, leadership, and love. May her legacy continue to inspire kindness, learning, and service, and may her memory be a blessing for all who knew her.
