Jim Stuehringer passed away on June 29, 2024, surrounded by loving family and friends after a battle with dementia.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on August 19,1948 to Flo and Chuck Stuehringer. After graduating from law school at the University of Cincinnati, Jim relocated to Tucson with his dear friend Marv Schotland and their young families where they practiced law together for several years. He then joined Waterfall Economidis for the rest of his 40-year career as a civil and criminal defense attorney. He was a hardworking, fierce and committed advocate for his clients and devoted father to his children, Lisa and Craig.
Joyce and Jim met at the wedding of a mutual friend in San Francisco on Oct 10, 1999, and shortly after they met, they knew that they had found their soulmate in each other. They married in 2001 and had a beautiful love affair until his last breath. Jim enveloped his stepchildren, David and Rebecca and his step granddaughters, Emma and Ruby as his own. Joyce’s extended family welcomed Jim with the same love and appreciation. Our hearts ache losing our beloved Jim, and yet, what a gift he was to us! We will be forever grateful for having him in our lives.
Jim is survived by his wife Joyce, children Lisa and Craig Stuehringer, stepchildren Rebecca and David Tofield, step granddaughters Emma and Ruby Lammersen, sister Fran Cummings, niece Kathryn Cummings and many dear friends.
The funeral and interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery on July 8, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Jim’s name to Treasure House
