Tucson Hebrew Academy Welcomes New Director of Development

Ethan Myerson, new THA Director of Development

Tucson Hebrew Academy (THA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ethan Myerson as its new Director of Development. With a decade of experience in Tucson’s nonprofit sector, Ethan brings a wealth of expertise and passion for connecting people with meaningful missions.

In his role, Ethan will spearhead efforts to strengthen the already robust community support enjoyed by THA. Drawing on his extensive background, he aims to expand corporate philanthropy and grant funding, focusing on the vital area of revenue for THA. Additionally, Ethan will lead fundraising initiatives for JETCO, the Jewish Education Tax Credit Organization.

Having grown up in the Conservative Movement and actively participated in USY, Ethan’s deep connection to his roots is evident. His formative years at Camp Ramah shaped his commitment to communal engagement. Over the past 25 years, Tucson has been home, and Ethan has dedicated his career to nonprofit fundraising, contributing to organizations like the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Make Way for Books, and, most recently, as the Director of Development at Tucson Audubon Society.

Ethan sees fundraising as a joyous endeavor, an essential aspect of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world. “I feel that donors support organizations because there is some version of the community that doesn’t exist today that they’d like to help realize,” says Ethan. “My role is to help donors make those visions a reality through the good work that THA does.”

Expressing his excitement about joining THA, Ethan emphasizes the dedication of the team in shaping the next generation of leaders. “The future of the Jewish community, and the community of young people who care about Israel, is right here at THA,” he remarks. “When you support THA, when you give to JETCO, you’re giving a gift not just to the school, or to that next generation, but all the generations that follow. You’re ensuring continuity for our people.”

Ethan’s family, including his partner, two teenage sons, and a pair of feline companions, forms the foundation of his support as he embarks on this new chapter. In his free time, you’ll find him engaging in diverse activities like creating art, birding, baking, and indulging in various board games. Tucson Hebrew Academy eagerly anticipates the positive impact Ethan will bring to their mission and the broader community.
