The Tucson chapter of the Brandeis National Committee is celebrating their 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee Book & Author Event on March 3.
The festivities begin at 9:30 am at Skyline Country Club. The program will feature four best-selling authors:
- Frank Figliuzzi served with the FBI for 25 years, rising to become the assistant director of the Bureau’s Counter-Intelligence Division and is now a national security
analyst for MSNBC News. He is the author of “The FBI Way: Inside the Bureau’s Code of Excellence.”
- Alka Joshi is the New York Times bestselling author of the blockbuster “The Henna Artist.” Set in India, it brings to life a woman who escapes from an abusive marriage to become an important confidante to many influential women. Her latest book, The Secret Keeper of Jaipur,” is the second installment in a planned trilogy.
- Talia Carner, a seventh generation Sabra, is a lifelong champion of women’s rights through her books. She describes herself as “a woman unafraid to tackle controversial issues” in her writings. Her latest novel, “The Third Daughter,” deals with human trafficking in Argentina.
- Ace Atkins is the author of 28 books, including 11 Quinn Colson novels, which were nominated for two Edgar Awards. He was chosen by Robert B. Parker’s estate as the author for the continuation of the famed Spenser series. Before turning to fiction, he was a Pulitzer Prize-nominated crime reporter. His current book is “Bye Bye Baby.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase books, have them autographed, and chat with the authors. There will also be a silent auction.
Victoria Lucas, known for her PBS television show “Hollywood at Home”, will moderate the event.
Covid protocols include proof of vaccination and masks.
For those who prefer not to attend in person, there will be a Zoom option.
