Benjamin Thurston Aronson completed his Bar Mitzvah on April 30, 2022. Although he read his Torah portion through Congregation Or Chadash’s Zoom services in April 2020, he was grateful for an in-person service and celebration with his family and friends. This belated event was performed at a family home, lovingly coordinated by his eldest sister, Rabbi Julia Weisz of Or Ami in Calabasas, California. Benjamin is the son of Geren Thurston and Randy Aronson. Benjamin attends eighth grade at Saint Cyril of Alexandria school; he is an honor roll student and an all-sports athlete. Basketball has been his passion since the age of six. His primary mitzvah project was volunteering at the JCC assisting with youth basketball games and practices.
