The New York Times published an opinion piece by former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, “10 Years Ago, a Gunman Tried to Silence Me,” on Jan. 8, 2021, the 10th anniversary of the shooting at Giffords’ “Congress on Your Corner” event in Tucson in which six people were killed and Giffords and 12 others were injured.
