The University of Arizona – State of Arizona’s COVID-19 antibody testing initiative has additional testing slots now available in Pima County for health care workers, first responders, and members of the general public.
The testing will determine if an individual has developed antibodies against the virus that causes COVID-19.
Health care workers, first responders, and members of the general public in Pima County who are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity should register on the COVID-19 Antibody Testing website.
The website includes a Q&A about the antibody testing. The question of whether having antibodies means a person is immune to coronavirus is answered, “The presence of COVID-19 antibodies means your immune system mounted a response against the virus. We do not yet know the amounts of antibodies that are required to fully prevent subsequent infections, but there might be some level of protection. Because we still do not know enough about this virus, protection should not be assumed.
