Tucson Board of Rabbis reacts to shooting of Muslim worshippers in New Zealand

The Tucson Board of Rabbis sent an email message to community members March 15 via the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona. It reads:

A Message from The Tucson Board of Rabbis on the Horrific Shootings of Muslim Worshipers in New Zealand

To our community members,

The attacks at the Al Noor and Linwood mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand are shocking and heart-breaking. We reached out to the Muslim community here in Tucson, the Islamic Center and the Muslim Community Center, to offer our condolences and our support.

As we prepare for Shabbat, we feel that the shalom, peace, of the world is battered by the actions of this terrorist. We pray for God to give us strength to work together for peace around the world, that worshipers might not be endangered during prayer and that everyone has a home where they can observe their faith.
