Concert to honor Temple Emanu-El’s Hochberg

Marjorie Hochberg

Temple Emanu-El will present a concert, “Celebrating 20 Years of Song,” on Thursday, June 13, in honor of Cantorial Soloist Marjorie Hochberg’s 20 years of service to the synagogue community. Hochberg will sing some of her favorite theater and opera solos, and musical guests will present Jewish favorites as well as world premieres.

Featured musical guests will include Rachel Saul, a violinist with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, who is one of Hochberg’s former students. Saul will play two new pieces, written for the occasion by composer Lewis Saul and by Temple Emanu-El Music Director Robert Lopez-Hanshaw.

The synagogue’s previous music director, pianist Chris Tackett, also will perform.

Tickets are $10, and donations in Hochberg’s honor will be recognized at the event. For more information on donations, contact Jill Rich at 349-0174.  For more information on the concert, call the Temple office at 327-4501 or register online at www.tetucson.org/event/celebrating-20.
